Spring Break 2007- Gatlinburg

Not knowing if I would have to have more surgery this summer, we opted for a no holds barred trip to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge in March. What a blast! We rented a HUGE cabin (it was really a lodge!) with Rick, Karen and her sister Rebecca. This was our first opportunity to meet Rebecca. What a sweetie! It think Cole likes her a little bit, too. However, I think Cole likes any lady! Huh?

Guy had a blast with the pool table. He and the older Shelton males really got into showing off techniques and trying to beat the socks off each other! Watch out World Pool Players Tour. The Shelton men are warmng up! HA!!!

We about killed the kids going "hiking" (it was really a nice walk on paved roads). The scenery was beautiful. We had never driven through Cade's Cove before. I think we found the perfect tour guides; two girls who grew up camping and hiking in the Smokey Mountains. Thanks, Karen and Rebecca!

That night I got to eat at Calhoun's for my first time. The truth is a I tried TOO MUCH!!! Afterwards, we worked off our dinner by playing around of putt-putt. Fun!

The next day, we about did Karen in. Ice skating and go-kart racing in one day may have been a bit much. But, she was a trooper and kept right up. I think we were all exhausted that night and quite bruised from our first ice skating experience. OUCH! Notice how tightly the boys are hanging onto the railing!

All in all it was a great trip. A chance to make new friends, which changed them from strangers to family. We will definitely have to "head to the hills" again soon. However, I think we'll only pick a couple of activities!!!
